The Innovative Teaching Award aims to support educators/trainers who not only complete the Religious Diversity & Dialogue online course but also want to take the next step of applying it to real-world learning contexts. It aims to encourage deeper learning on Religious Diversity and Dialogue, promote creative use of course concepts, and strengthen a community of practice grounded in dialogue, inclusion, and diversity. The award recognises both thoughtful reflection and practical, context-driven implementation.

How It Works

Participants who complete the Religious Diversity and Dialogue course (ENG) are invited to submit a short reflective assessment demonstrating how they will apply course concepts, tools, and resources in practice. The Religious Diversity & Dialogue course is also available in French.

This course uses short documentaries and expert videos and is divided into four modules that encourage reflection. It is free, self-paced, and requires only 3–4 hours to complete.

Task

Develop a teaching plan or model based on at least one module from the course. The plan should show how the selected concepts and resources can be applied in practice for capacity building and education, with emphasis on practical adaptation within the trainer’s own context.

Submissions should highlight:

  • Cognitive application: A clear understanding and effective use of key ideas, frameworks, and insights from the course.
  • Personal or contextual application: How the participant integrates the learning into their own classroom, institution, community, or environment.

Practical Guidelines

  • Prepare a teaching plan for a 30–45 minute learning session.
  • Select at least one module from the Religious Diversity & Dialogue course as the theme.
  • Integrate 1–2 films from the chosen module into the teaching plan.
  • Adapt the discussion and activities to align with your local context.
  • Limit the teaching plan to a maximum of one page.
  • You may submit the teaching plan in any language of your preference.

Who Can Apply

All educators and trainers who wish to apply diversity and dialogue literacy in their educational work in classrooms, institutions or community settings.
